Greetings from Bonnie Jarrad and the nursing home ministry team, in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Over the past several months our team has undergone some changes and we have strived to make these with the most sensitive and positive efforts as possible. New faces and new presentations have emerged as we continue to prayerfully consider our steps ahead. The goal of our efforts is to bring as much tenderness to our seniors and bright spots of song and time spent visiting and ministering as can be accomplished on the one Sunday a month er enter their lives.
Each time we assemble to minister to them, the response from the residents increases, as more and more come to partake of our gifts and time and ultimately the message we strive to convey, of our love of Jesus and our love for them through Jesus.
We are not only ministering through songs and favorite Hymns, we have added a spot for special music, as we are all sharing turns doing this. We, with the help of Andreas Reif, are working on serving communion to those residents who have voiced a desire for this meal to be served. Testimonies and specific prayer requests as needed, to those who have requested it, are as well, being heard, and lifted on their behalf with them, to God.
The response from our church body to participate in this ministry has been heartwarming to say the least. From the youngest of us to the eldest are coming out to share time with these precious nuring home residents.
